Our Wines

Our wines between philosophy and etymology

Each name of our wine shows the origin and the soul of the product. The choice of the names has been inspired by the idea of territory joined with the tradition and the vocation to produce typical wines of our land. The etymology of the names allows to knows the kind of land which originates the different wines!

Phatos During the first year of our activity, we put the first wine produced in wooden casks. We had to wait for two years before appreciating the final result. Finally we obtained a very elegant and refined wine, for great emotions, ideal for gala nights and refined dishes made of meat, cheese or legumes..

Tharen It means “ground” in our dialect. It is a unique and inimitable raisin wine. This “passito” is perfect to end an important meal, tasted with good dry pastries. It is also very good to taste alone.

Shabin St. Sabino is the patron of Canosa di Puglia. He was one of the first bishops of Catholic Church. He was a charismatic man He firmly supported the dialogue among different people. Our rosé Shabin is perfect for this aim: tasted cool as an aperitif, it is ideal for a first approach among fellow-guests.

Aufidus It is the latin name of the River Ofanto around which our grapes grow and our wines are produced. This name firmly shows the nature of our land through the perfect armony between the two different kinds of grapes: Nero di Troia and Montepulciano.

Mherum produced from grapes grown primarily at the Estate. The major red variety produced is Nero di Troia, with some Sangiovese,Montepulciano & Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a dry and velvety taste, full, harmonious, well-balanced and firmly structured. A wine of charm and balance Goes well with grilled meats, flavorful cheese

Halbus In latin it means “white”. The name mainly refers to the colour of this wine, but it also aims to show the nature and the colour of the ground where the grapes are produced. It is a white, lightly calcareous ground.

Khanus It is the old name of our town Canosa which was the first to produce Nero di Troia grapes. This wine creates different, pleasant sensations through its light taste of red berry fruit and spices. It is a unique and inimitable wine, difficult to produce but very delicate and elegant in its flavours and aromas.

Phrimis It is the”first”. It has been our first bottled wine. Not so ambitious, but perfect for the various daily meals or for a meeting of friends around a barbecue.
